DM6437 MXVss pin usage

Hi,

In reviewing the design, I noticed in table 2-6 of SPRS345D, pin MXVss (K18 ZWT package) is labeled as GND type, but in the reference design the pin does not actually connect to ground in case a crystal is used.

In my design, I use a 27MHz crystal, should I tie this pin to ground, or should I just follow the reference design and use it for the two caps only?

    (4) Oscillator ground (MXVSS) must be kept separate from other grounds and connected directly to the crystal load capacitor ground

    This is what I need clarification about - is it not connected to ground at all or isolated by some means of resistor/inductor?
