FOE (File access over ethercat)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359, AM4377

Hi,

We are using SDK 1.1.0.3 on ICE AM3359

1) We were able to download application binary "ECATFW__"

Can we upload the file from FOE ( I'm able to see the upload button in twincat), Is this implemented in SDK 1.1.0.3?

Regrads,

Bindu

  • Hi,

    As mentioned in other thread, http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/tirtos/f/355/p/309174/1075801.aspx#107580. We do not plan to add any other feature other than firmware upgrade on top of Beckhoff SSC.

    Firmware upload to EtherCAT master is not supported but you may refer to sample data upload functionality in SSC and extend this to support firmware upload.

  • Hi,

    I tried updating the firmware of the ECat Slave through FoE In AM4377 ,Using EC Engineer tool.I am not able to download the binary "ECATFW__"  . The size of binary is in kbs. While capturing wireshark logs, i observed ,it takes 164 Bytes each time and Then exits prompting "master timeout" .

    I followed the below steps

    -> Switch to diagnosis mode

    ->Change Master State to Init

    ->Change Slave state to Bootsrap

    -> In FoE Entered File name as ECATFW__app ,

    ->Clicked download button , (tried for files with bin ,hex extensions)

    -> Master time out set as 2 sec

    ->Max bytes as 1mb

    Even if the binary file is some 56kb , the download is not Happening and exiting saying "timeout"

    Can I get a help as to what steps to follow or where am I going wrong.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Aparna,

  • Hi Aparna,
    We generally discourage posting a new question to an old closed thread because the person who answered before may no longer be available, and also it will allow whomever is currently assigned to monitor the forum to respond to you more quickly. For these reasons, I suggest you start a new thread with your question and reference this thread.

    Thank you
