Beagle bone black Rev A6 serial issue

Dear All,

i am using Trendnet Tu-S9 usb to serial converter, in minicom terminal it is displaying junk character. i am unable to see booting information.

I verified my cable is working. UART setting is fine.

can anybody suggest what may be the issue?

Hi Srinivas,

The converter you mention ends up with a DB-9 RS-232 connector. The voltage levels on this connector are RS-232 (probably +/- 5V). The BB Black needs a USB to Serial Cable which ends up with TTL 3.3V levels. I hope you haven't burned your board.

Thanks for the info..,

i purchased FTDI Cable (which works with 3.3.V level) so now i am able to see booting information in the minicom serial console..
