changes to the ESI file usually need to be aligned with changes to the stack. Stack code and configuration really define the behaviour of the device and it needs to match the ESI. Otherwise things may go wrong. As there are virtually millions of different devices and configurations possible we can not test everything. This is up to the final EtherCAT device implementation and test. The TI ESC (and therefor PRU firmware) should really support any device config assuming correct programming on the stack and ESI side. We closely followed the Beckhoff ASIC specs.

please contact your local distributor or TI contact for further support. They need to decide if that is possible given available resources. If you need additional development help there are also a couple of third parties available that you could contract.

A good source for EtherCAT help are also the forums on ethercat.org.

Does the Watchdog of SM can be disable(ControlByte="#x24") with PRU of REV 1.0A of AM335x_ICE in your test.
