On IPC 3.x and IPC 1.x

Hello everyone,

(target C6678, CCS 5.5, BIOS 1.25, XDCTools 3.25, IPC 1.25)

On the download page of IPC

http://downloads.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/ipc/

There are now 2 branches : the 1.x line and 3.x line.

I understand that 3.x doesn't support SYSLINK, it doesn't matter to me.

What I want to know is :

- is 1.x development stopped ?
- as a C6678 user should I go with the 3.x development line now ?
- is there performance and/or code size benefits for Notify (not MessageQ) in the 3.x line ?

There's probably not a code size benefit to using Notify instead of MessageQ, since both are probably pulled in to the application, but there will be a performance benefit since MessageQ uses Notify under the covers.
