6678EVM disable sending DHCP requests on bootup

Hi to all

I dont have any DHCP server on my ubuntu box so after every boot of 6678EVM it takes a long time to send DHCP request and wait for an IP .

How can disable sending DHCP requests on bootup, and set ip address manually with ifconfig.

Hi, Dido,

Modify the mk file under kbuilds directory. It has "ip=dhcp" in the CMDLINE. Change it to use static IP address. Please check the syntax from internet.

but Do I need to program the NAND flash to apply this change?

really i want to boot linux from NFS partition (and created root file system) on my ubuntu PC , is it nessesary to program flash to do that?

Hi, Dido,

You meant to mount the NFS file system after Linux is up, not booting from NFS, right? Static IP has nothing to do with NFS file system. You can configure static IP but still use NFS mounted file system as long as the EVM has connection with the NFS server. If you boot from NAND, yes, you need to re-program them.
