Queary Regarding keystone 2 Netcp

I am going through the Keystone 2 NetCP architecture and came to know that consist of four seprate module.

1.PA

2.SA

3. Ethernet Switch Subsystem

4.Packet DMA

But I didn't get any information about who is actual manufacturer of Ethernet Swith Subsystem or manufacturer of 3-port ethernet switch inside Ethernet Swith Subsystem.

Is Ethernet switch from marvell?

Also would like to know who is manufacturer of PHY device used in Keystone 2 that is interfaced with Netcp .

Please correct me if I have asked anything wrong.

Hi Amit,

The internal IP is a product of Texas Instruments. We've connected the SGMII interface to Marvell PHYs on our EVM boards but any SGMII compatible 1Gb Ethernet PHY should work.

Thanks Bill for your kind response.

What I understood from your answer is NetCP's four modules are from TI itself and TI is the actual manufacturer of

Ethernet mac( Ethernet Switch Subsystem) .

This Ethernet mac( Ethernet Switch Subsystem) is connected to Ethernet Phy(could be from Marvell or from Atheros) using MII interface,right?

Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere.

Hi Amit,

You are correct that the MAC is included in the Ethernet switch sub-system. There is an SGMII serdes interface connected to the MAC which provide the method of connection to the external PHY. You'll need to find a PHY that can support a connection to a MAC using SGMII.

Hi Amit,

I was referring to the NetCP. Note that the NetCP is actually a collection of other internal IPs. You will find a hierarchy of Users Guides associated with the pieces within the NetCP.
