WinCE bootable SDcard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, AM3352

Hi everyone,

While creating a bootable WinCE 6.0 SD card to run it on the board OMAP-L138, I recieve the error : WriteEbootImage : Open Eboot File : "EBOOTSPIFLASH.nb0" failed. ERROR 2.

the command I inserted to create the partitions and then a bootable SD card is : diskman.exe createbootdisk <sd card drive letter >.

Please help me to solve this problem,

thank you very much

  • Hi,

I am not familiar with diskman.exe, but error 2 is Windows-speak for "The system cannot find the file specified".

Does ebootspiflash.nb0 exist and is it on a path where diskman.exe expects to find it?

  • Hi, I'm working with a custom AM3352 platform - and we boot from uSD. The AM335x ROM is capable of detectin FAT32 formatted cards and locating the MLO. Here's how I create bootable SD cards (on Windows 7) using DISKPART from the CMD console.

And oh - make SURE you have selected your SD card :)

    1. Run DISKPART

    2. Type LIST DISK

Find the number of your SD card drive, for now let's say it is disk 1

    3. Type SELECT DISK 1

    4. Type CLEAN

    5. Type CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY

    6. Type SELECT PARTITION 1

    7. Type ACTIVE

    8. Type FORMAT FS=FAT QUICK

    9. Type ASSIGN

    10. Type EXIT

Now the SD card should be bootable.

    Cheers,
    /Magnus
