Image Processing in DM8168

We want to do some Image processing using DM8168, such as face detection, human detection.

Our algorithm is implemented using OpenCV 2.3 on PC,

I think we need to do too much optimization if we using ARM core to do this,

so, if using DSP, from what to start this for DM8168.

Is there any suggestions for this application?

You have a big task ahead of you, but the best place to start is by looking at the example codecs in the codec_engine folder in the EZSDK. Searching the forum will help too. There is a wizard to create your own codec in the codec_engine folder too.

Even with DSP, you still have a lot of optimization to do.

1. Face detection: TI has it already in its RDK. Try it.

2. Human detection: TI already has its optimized code, but I doubt it will be available to public. They have published a Tech Doc and a conference paper which can guide you from openCV to highly optimized DSP code.
