dsp for guitar effect and amp simulator

Hi, 

I'm looking for a DSP to develop guitar effects and cabinet simulation. I'm new in the DSP world, so my first option is the C5535 eZdsp USB Stick Development Kit (I know C/C++). 

Would you recommend me some other kit/dsp or is this choice right?

    Hello Manuel,

    You have the right kit.  I'd also recommend the C5000 Teaching ROM which covers a lot of material including "sound like an alien or play an electric guitar with echo and phasing effects."
