Video format DM8107 DVR Kit

The video saved in the external storage uses a proprietary format. How can I change it to save in *avi or another generic file extension? I need be able to play the file without any special tool.

Hi,

The DVR GUI has an option of backing up video/audio streams in AVI using the BACK UP tab in settings page. You can connect a USB drive and back up the content of a particular channel from 'start time' to 'end time' using this option.

I wanna save video directly in AVI format. Is it possible? The way that you suggest me need save files in TI proprietary format then convert it to AVI.

I have tried the GUI option to export. The AVI file exported doesn't play in any videoplayer.
