Pulse Oximeter output not working with the Pulse Oximeter Implementation on the TMS320VC5505 DSP Medical Development Kit DSP Medical Development Kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5505

Hi,

I am using the TMS320VC5505 DSP along with the pulse oximeter daughter board to try to capture SpO2 readings. The first time I loaded the .out file that came with the product (using Code Composer Studio 3.3), I got valid readings and an appropriate wave form. On all subsequent attempts, I have not been able to get valid readings or a valid wave form.

My "newness" to development with hardware will become painfully apparent with my questions: Is there something I need to do to "reset" the DSP? I have tried pressing the "reset" button on the board. I have tried powering everything off and reloading. Could a reset be my problem? If not, can anyone guide me toward some sort of beginners guide to troubleshooting problems such as this? I've tried compiling the source code and loading it but it was worse than the compiled code that came with the device.

I apologize for posting such a broad issue but I have had trouble reaching tech support. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • I am sorry about the situation that you have. I want to help but not enough informaiton. Since the board worked for the first time, I can think of ESD damage somehow, but I am not sure...

Try this. Power down (unplug the power code) the board for a while (about 1 minute) and then run it again. If it does not work, then you may need to contact your local TI sales and let them contact factory.

    Best Regards,
