Question for Evaluation board of C6678

Hi community member,

Please let me confirm the following question.

How can I evaluate four cores of C6678 by using C6678 evaluation board?

[Background]

I know that this evaluation board is super sets in order to evaluate the C667x series.  When connect the evaluation board to CCS(JTAG), all cores will be power up.  In case of measuring the power consumption, we need to power down some unused cores.  So, I would like to know how to do when we will evaluate the C6674 device by using this board.

    Kaka,

    Each core has its own power down controller (PDC) that can be used to turn off the entire C66x CorePac. Please refer to Section 12.2.5 of the C66x CorePac users guide (SPRUGW0C) for the power down sequence.

    I assume you will connect CCS and load an executable in all 8 cores at startup. I would have the unused cores polling for a notification from core0 as to when to execute the power down sequence. Hit "Run" on the unused cores and then disconnect CCS. Then hit run on core0 - this will notify the unused cores to run the power down sequence and they will power down.

    If can edit the GEL file in order to set the MEGPD for C6678EVM, can we evaluate the C6678 EVM as C6674 without using your method? 

    * If possible, I would like to edit the GEL file and know how to edit in order to power down coer pack.

    Can we confirm whether the core pack is powered down or not ?
