LCDKC6748 BOM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

I am developing a product based on the LCDKC6748 and have downloaded the schematic and "BOM" but the BOM isn't in the zip file.  I tried generating the BOM from the OrCAD file but the parts listed in the part properties are wrong.  The PCB footprints do not match the components listed.  Is there a complete and correct BOM available to save me from days of cross checking?

  • Hi Bill,

I have generated the BOM for the schematic version A6a.That matches the Part properties and PCB foot print.

I have used the below string in cadences Or CAD 16.3 for generating this BOM

    Item\tQuantity\tReference\tPart\tDescription\tManufacturer\tPackage

    {Item}\t{Quantity}\t{Reference}\t{Value}\t{Description}\t{manufacturers part reference}\t{PCB footprint}

  • Given the lack of replies and nothing from my FAE, I have to assume the answer is no.  If there are any TI sales or FAE people reading this, please do me a small favor.  When you are talking to a software engineer, never tell them the hardware design is already done and all the documentation is ready for production.  Right now I am the hardware engineer who has to clean up this mess.

  • I just found your message - not sure why I didn't get a notification.  Using your exact strings for generating the BOM, I get an error message (OrCAD 16.6).  But not every part has those field you list (example Y1) which maybe the reason I am getting an error message.  Y1 has the manufacturer in the "MAN" field and part number in the "Value" field.  If you look at C86 it has a "Manufacturer" field and a "Manufacturers part Refe" field - the given part number is for an 0603 part.  The PCB Footprint field and gerbers have a 0402 footprint so I am not sure how you have matched the footprint to the part given (C86 has a "Manufacturers part Refe" field of C0603C104K5RACTU and a PCB Footprint of 0402).  The drawing revision on the cover sheet is A6a.

I spent a lot of time tracking down L1-3 - the "MAKE" and "Manufacturer" fields are blank and there isn't a part number to be seen.  I had to measure the pad in the gerber and compare recommended PCB footprints.  If you got a useable BOM please post it.  If this is an issue with OrCAD Capture, I will be happy to hand it them.

  • Hi Bill,

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I agreed there is a mismatch between the manufacturer part number and PCB foot print name for few components, we are checking it up with our third party to fix this issue and once we get the updates we will get you the latest BOM soon.

    Regards

    Antony

  • I am sorry if I came across too hard - I look forward to getting a BOM.

  • Hi Bill,

     Thanks for your patience

Meanwhile you can check with OMAP-L138 & C6748 LCDK v.A6 Schematics & BOM from the same wiki link that zip file contains the BOM.I hope that BOM is well organized properly with respect to Part No and PCB foot print

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/L138/C6748_Development_Kit_(LCDK)0871.OMAP-L138_C6748 LC DEV KIT VER A6.xls

But still we are checking it up the third party regarding the discrepancy with respect to schematics part properties (Manufacture part number, Foot print name …etc)

    Regards
