TMS320C6657 Lite Evaluation Module no longer connects to any computer

I bought a TMS320C6657 Lite Evaluation Module about a month ago and last week was working on running the pre programmed demo after following the instructions provided and installing all needed drivers etc. While I was doing so I had it powered on and after a while of working to try and get the demo to run it suddenly was disconnected from my computer. I attempted to reconnect it to no avail, tried re-installing the drivers, connecting to other computers (a windows laptop, a windows desktop, and a mac running windows through bootcamp), nothing. None of the LEDs that light up when connected will light up either. The board will still power on though and I was periodically checking it to see if it was feeling too warm but I never felt it get hot so I don't think it overheated somehow. Has anyone else experienced this and had any luck with a solution or would anyone have suggestiong for me to try? Thanks in advance!

Hi Michael,

Have you tried connecting to the target using the emulator? Please try load and execute the programs using the emulator.

Have you ensured the connection between emulator and core by Test Connection Option?

I would like to ensure below items on this issue.

1. Please ensure to have the correct jumper settings to use on-board xds100v1 emulator?

2. Please ensure to select the boot mode as “No boot” from below link.

3. Please try with the attached target configuration(ccxml) file and gel file to connect with the target.

4. Ensure to use the correct CCS Version and Dependencies from below link.

In the meantime, I will ask experts to look into the issue.

The issue is that no computer that I connect the EVM to will recognize that it is connected to the evm, nothing shows up saying anything is using the usb port and none of the connections on the dsp light up to show that it thinks that it is being connected to something. It was working perfectly fine when i was first using it and then while i was using it it suddenly disconnected from my computer and now wont connect to any computer.

Hi Michael,

As per EVM Quick Start Guide, (https://www.einfochips.com/TI/TMDSEVM6657L_QuickSetupGuide.pdf)

1. At power ON all User/Debug LEDs are ON by default.

2. Once OOB/POST execution completes the User/Debug LEDs will turn OFF.

If the steps provide QSG does not help, please try below suggestions.

1. Please probe the power and clock to verify by referring the schematics available in the support page.

2. Please try connect and download image(*.out) on DSP core via on-board USB emulator.
