Boot android on beaglebone black from SD card

I am trying to boot Android on to a Beaglebone Black system.

Hardware:

  • Beaglebond black Rev A5C with Angstrom loaded
  • 4D system resistive touch LCD cape (4DCAPE-43T)
  • 5V power supply
  • USB connected to Host PC (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS)

Software

  • Beaglebone black has the stock Angstrom Linux
  • uSD card has JB 4.2.2, I have built the kernel

Connections

  • 5V power supply
  • mini-USB connected to Host PC (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS)

On boot/power up I held the S2 (uSD boot) button and release the button.

I was expecting the system boot from the uSD card with Android.

I don't see any of the USERx LED's illuminated.

Do I need to make change to the display resolutions?

What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions?

Attach few pictures for the hardware too.

I have read the following post too.

I have ordered the Serial to USB cable will post the log when available

  • Don't power up the board press and hold the uSD boot button then power up the device then release the uSD button it will help you

  • Hi Mahendra, I had same problem.

Is your HDMI output to TV working with TI Android 4.2.2 image? I was using micro-HDMI(male)-HDMI(female) converter from Adafruit. It was showing up on the screen but along with all green lines.

Then I ordered the (4DCAPE-43T) and it did boot (checked using serial debug) but no display.

Finally got an idea from this post (http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/android/f/509/t/292535.aspx?pi199489=2) about changing the EEPROM address on the cape. I have connected the jumpers as shown below. And then it started working - touch and display both.

    Good luck!
