About the voting window ?

For C6678 SRIO,

It is said  twelve data bits constitute the voting window ( SerDes Implementation Guide for KeyStone I Devices , P29)

But  It is said  eight data bits constitute the voting window( Serial RapidIO (SRIO) for KeyStone Devices User's Guide, P43)

what is the really  voting window for srio of C6678?

  • Hi Xi,

The voting window is 12 data samples as mentioned in the SerDes Implementation guide. I'll investigate why the SRIO user guide suggests that it's 8 data samples and ensure it is updated to the correct description.

    Thanks,

    Clinton

  • Thank you for your reply !

I have also readed the <<SerDes Implementation Guide for KeyStone I Devices>>, it said twelve data bits constitute the voting window. The twelve votes  are then summed, and an action to adjust the position of the sampling clock occurs if  the difference between early and late vote s exceeds a programmable threshold.

But the max  vote threshold is 15 in Table 9 !

I was confused  why the threshold greater than twelve ?  In any case , there are twelve votes in a voting window.

    Thank you !
