Android 4.3 on OMAP5

Hi there,

i am interested in an Android 4.3 Release for OMAP5. I found a 6AJ.x branch in omapmanifest.git which contains Android 4.3. Unfortunatly, it seems to be for DRA7xxx Jacinto chips. According to their documentation, OMAP5 and DR7xxx have many similarities. Therefore my question:

- Has anyone tried porting the DRA7xxx release to OMAP5 ?
- I have read in another thread from September 2013 that Android 4.3 for OMAP is in progress. Does anybody know when a release will be available?

There is not information about a TI's official Android 4.3 Release for OMAP5.

The official releases are:

1. Panda5AJ.1.5.1 Release Notes - Android JellyBean 4.2.2 for OMAP5 http://omappedia.org/wiki/Panda5AJ.1.5.1_Release_Notes

2. 6AJ.1.0 Release Notes - Android JellyBean 4.2.2 for DRA7xx (Jacinto 6) http://www.omappedia.org/wiki/6AJ.1.0_Release_Notes

If there is a new Android 4.3 release, it will be available in www.omappedia.org

Hi Yanko,

i managed to install Android 4.3 on my OMAP5 board. In case anyone is interested, thats what ive done:

- compile kernel and bootloader for Android 4.2 and OMAP5: http://omapedia.org/wiki/Panda5AJ.1.5.1_Release_Notes

- compile Android 4.3 for Jacinto: http://omapedia.org/wiki/6AJ.1.2_Release_Notes
   a) make target is panda5
   b) you have to add some audio includes from Android 4.2
   c) activate OMAP_ENHANCEMENTS and ENHANCED_DOMX in BoardConfig.mk
   d) omap5.gralloc needs "dump(const char*) const" in class StackTrace. Modify it!
   e) install on OMAP5 board, using kernel and bootloader from 4.2, android from 4.3

Afterwards, Android 4.3 boots fine. I tested an OpenGL app and it works. Im not sure whether ducati and image sensor interface runs.
