6482 CSL support

Hi

I want to use C6482 Chip Support Library, but in the below website it does not contain 6482. So can anyone tell me how to find a CSL support 6482?

Thank You

XIning Yu

  • Hi

Yes, it is. I had one AMC70K2000 board. In website (http://silicontkx.com/AMC70K2000.htm), it shows this board has 4 6455/6482 DSP. When I use CSL for 6455, it seems like it does not work. So, i want to try CSL for 6482.

  • Xining Yu,

Did you look at the registers of the DSP and compare them with the C6455 datasheet as I explained in this thread? That should have confirmed for you that it was a C6455. And it is very important that you look at those registers to determine the version of the silicon to make sure it matches with the version of CSL that you are using; comments in the CSL files and documentation will have references to the version of silicon they support, if there are any changes that require different support.

The same CSL will work for any common features of the C6455 and the TCI6482. The TCI6482 is not supported on the E2E forum as it is only supported for a limited market.

  • Thanks for replying RandyP

I am using JTAG ID register to tell the DSP's part number. From it, according to the C6455 datasheet, it shows this DSP is 6455. But, I am not sure that whether this register can be used as a right way to detect the DSP's part number。

  • Xining Yu,

Please assume you have a C6455 and try to move forward. It really does not matter for the testing and use of this board, as I said above:

"The same CSL will work for any common features of the C6455 and the TCI6482. The TCI6482 is not supported on the E2E forum as it is only supported for a limited market."

I have pointed you to the register which you have confirmed tells you this is a C6455, but you seem to doubt the register and my advice and the datasheet.

I am not sure what more to say to you about this. You can use this as a C6455 and do your work. Other than that, I cannot help you.
