Is sys bios will be supported for new development Hercules TMS570 -R Roadmap

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS, HALCOGEN

Hi,

We have a working implementation now with TMS570LS3, using sysbios 6. For the expected processors like tms570LC (300Mhz), is sysbios 6 will be ok? I've heard that it will be no supported anymore. What does it means?

Regards.

  • Simon:

We are not supporting SYS/BIOS on any of the newer ARM Cortex R4-based devices. The main reason is that the great majority of users of these devices are designing safety-critical applications where the OS requires some kind of certification. The investment to have SYS/BIOS certified was too great. Therefore, we decided to withdraw from supporting the R4-based products. The Hercules team does have FreeRTOS support built into their Halcogen tool, as there is a migration path for the certified SafeRTOS OS for customers who want to start with something free.
