AM335x sgx drivers for Android 4.4 kitkat

Hi everyone,

we are working on an AM335x platform and need to switch from Android JB to Kitkat.

The first problem we encountered are the sgx drivers. We are using the latest version available on rowboat, tagged ti_sgx_sdk-ddk_1.10-jb-4.3.

There is a workaround that probes the driver without EGL_FRAMEBUFFER_TARGET_ANDROID and EGL_RECORDABLE_ANDROID but the performance are far from perfect and we would like to get rid of it.

Is there any plan to support Kitkat in the near future?

Hi Martino, we are assessing the requirements for KitKat support and will provide further updates as those assessments are completed. If you need help sooner than later then I encourage you to contact TI's third parties, such as Mentor Graphics and/or Adeneo who offer Android support today.

Hi Martino,

In order to have a better understanding of your problem, could you please share the following information:

1) Which kernel version is used for your Kit Kat build? Is it the exact same one as for Jelly Bean 4.3?

2) What happens exactly when running the SGX implementation without the workaround?

3) Could you send both logcat and dmesg logs in that case? Where does hwcomposer crash?
