For my understanding of the Schematics Port0 Pin7 is a normal output

You are correct. It is not required for BeagleBone Black. The line can be commented or removed. After that Port0, Pin7 can be used for normal operation.

Question regarding the gel file:

There comes a file AM335X_beagleboneblack.gel with the new patch.

Can it be added to an existing target configuration file? I did not manage to do that.

Or is there another way to add it to the project? I am using CCS 5.5, but in the TOOLS menu there is no 'GEL Files' entry.

Martin,

You can edit the target configuration to update the location of the new gel file.

View -> Target Configurations

Double-click on your target configuration.

Click on "Target Configuration" under "Advanced Setup".

Click on "Cortex A8" on the left panel that opens up. On the right side, you'll see the path to the current GEL script. You need to update it to point to the new one. Then "Save" and close.
