Volib acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TELECOMLIB

TI experts-

1) The Volib VEU module mentions "Acoustic Echo Control (AEC)". Is this invoked by either the Telogy or Telinnovations ec functions? Or is AEC independent, for example something that should be run before the ec module?  We cannot find any further reference in TI docs.

2) TI docs also mention "acoustic echo path simulator". Is there additional documentation available on this?

3) How can we combine the separate AEC (http://www.ti.com/tool/telecomlib) module with Volib Telogy and/or Telinnovations LEC?  Is there any reference or app note showing combined use of both?

Thanks.

  • Jeff,

    1) AEC is a independent module as you list in item #3.

    2) We don't have addtional document regarding acoustic echo path simulator.

    3) AEC and LEC serve different purposes. AEC cancels the acoustic echo that is caused by the coupling between loud speaker and microphone on an end device such as an IP phone. LEC cancels line echo that is caused by 4-wire to 2-wire hybrid in the network. In general, AEC and LEC should not be combined. We don’t have an app note of combing AEC and LEC.
