DSP memory access

Hi all,

Currently, I'm working on a project that uses the DSP C674x subsystem in DM8148 chipset and I have the following questions:

Q1: What is the smallest memory unit that is individually addressable by the DSP? 8 bits or 32 bits?

Q2: Is there any memory alignment requirement for best performance? Such as the memory dynamically allocated must be 32bits or 64bits aligned?

Please advise.

Hi,

The DSP has a 32-bit, byte-addressable address space.
The C674x devices are enhanced for code size improvement.
It includes hardware support for single-precision(32-bit) and double-precision(64-bit).
You can move data to internal memory as much as possible to get fast performance.
And also enable the option like optimization level when build the application.
