Change saLoopBack output to YUV 4:2:0 in DM8148 EVM

Hi,

I am using the saLoopBack application to capture video at 1280x720p. The format of the captured video is coming "YUV2" ,i.e YUV 4:2:2(16bpp).

But i want the output video as YUV 4:2:0.

Can you please tell what modification I have to do in the saLoopBack application to get the video as YUV 4:2:0.

You could capture in YUV420 format by just changing the output format to FVID2_DF_YUV420UV, but you will not be able to display it as there is no support for YUV420 display.

Hello,

In saLoopBack demo the pixel format is set to V4L2_PIX_FMT_YUYV because the display supports only V4L2_PIX_FMT_YUYV.

#define DEF_PIX_FMT V4L2_PIX_FMT_YUYV

The capture supports V4L2_PIX_FMT_NV12, V4L2_PIX_FMT_NV16, V4L2_PIX_FMT_RGB24 also.

Does capture support V4L2_PIX_FMT_YUV420? if no how can we add the support for this in saLoopBack application.
