can keystone II device 66ak2h06 connecto to 4 x 1000M ethernet PHYs Simultaneously

Hello:

    Now i am Confused by 5 port Ethernet switch in 66ak2h06, In my project i need to output 4 x GigE Simultaneously by SGMII interface, and they will work all the time, can i do so?

    Yes. You can use 4 SGMII Interface ports available in 66AK2H06. Please refer the 66AK2H06 datasheet and product folder for more information.

       There are four SGMII interface in 66ak2h06, but the bandwidth between NETCP and DSP is 1Gbps, how can i use them  simultaneously  for the four port at the speed of 1Gbps each?

  • NETCP is connected to DSP cores via Teranet, see "7.3 TeraNet Switch Fabric Connections Matrix - Configuration Space" of 66AK2H14/12/06 Multicore DSP+ARM KeyStone II System-on-Chip (SoC) (Rev. E) datasheet. The bandwidth is far beyond 1Gb/s. You can use 4 SGMII port with 1.0Gb/s each.

  • Whilst NETCP is connected to the DSPs and ARMs via Teranet the only connection between NETCP and the SGMII ports appears to be via the host port of the GbE switch which is limited to 1Gb/s.

    That would suggest that it is not possible to transmit/receive data at more than 1Gb/s via the 4 SGMII ports as the OP and I want to do.  

     Do I understand this correctly or is there some way to transmit/receive data directly from the SGMII bypassing the GbE switch?

  • The Ethernet traffic goes through switch, the 4 SGMII port each has 1 Gb/s. However, the Host port connected to NETCP is not limited to 1 Gb/s.
