AM1808 NAND flashing without SD card

We are developing AM1808 custom board without SD-card and have NAND(MT29F4G16ABADAH4) same part used in LCDK kit.

How to flash the U-Boot, UImage and Linux file system in NAND?

Is there any utility to flash all these files into NAND ?

What are the changes need to do in kernel and u-boot to work with NAND and disable the SD other than pinmux configuration. ?

Hi,

How to flash the U-Boot, UImage and Linux file system in NAND?

1) For u-boot flashing,

You can refer the following link to flash u-boot into SPI/NAND .

2) For kernel image (uImage) flashing,

i) Load your uimage into RAM through tftp at u-boot.

ii) Set bootargs for mounting a filesystem through NFS.

3) For filesystem flashing

i) Erase filesystem partition (Ex : /dev/mtd4)

ii) Flash filesystem into NAND partition using any type of fs (yaffs2, jffs2 . ubifs)

4) For filesystem flashing

You can flash fs from u-boot shell.

I hope you will get some starting point from this.
