DM8168 H.264 Encoder on 674x DSP

Thanks Sudheesh. Actaually I am looking for performances of codecs developed for DM8168  DSP. TMS320C6678 has a lower DSP clock  than DM8168 DSP, I think. Though the datasheet says 9000 MIPS, I want to know how much in reality can be obtained.

  Sorry about the question, but why you want to use codecs in the DSP? Normally in the DM816x all the codecs run in the HDVICP2 and there are several already available.

I wanted to port my custom codec which has different features.

I am interested to know about whether HDVICP2 can be used for 3 rd party development. Does TI support this?

I mean to make use of some of the H/W blocks for custom development.
