How can CCS5.2 examine the NAND flash content?

I'm a beginner of DSP, and I learned read and write flash recent. I use the C6657 and the evmc6657l and I run the "platform_test_evmc6657l" project. When I test the nand flash , I want to see the content which I write to the falsh. In CCS->Memory browser, which address I should wrtie?

Hi Ning,

We can't really answer this question because we don't know much about the program you ran to flash the program. Check the console output window. Usually those programs will output the start address of where the program got flashed to the console. You can also check the documentation of your board.

The project is "C:\ti\pdk_C6657_1_1_1_4\packages\ti\platform\evmc6657l\platform_test". In the main() function , the "test_nand() " is called to test the flash. the test_nand() function can write something to the flash, I don't know if you had ran this program?

Hi Ning,

According to the C6657 datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c6657.pdf Page 25) the EMIF16 data space starts at 0x70000000 and is split into four 64 MB blocks... one for each CE pin.

The EVM has a NAND device connected on CE0 (http://einfochips.com/images/texas_instrument/TI-TMS320C6657-EVM/C6657_EVM_SCH_16_00132_02.pdf Page 16).

I ran the platform_test_evmc6657l and it looks like 0x70000000 is indeed the base address of the NAND device used. Please take a look at that address in the memory browser in CCS. Please let me know if this answers your question.
