The PHY address of Ethernet PHY for boot from EMAC1 AM335x

Hi,

I design the device with two Ethernet ports. Both Ethernet PHY connected to AM335x with RGMII and MDIO interfaces.

What PHY address of Ethernet PHY (transceiver) port 1 and Ethernet PHY (transceiver) port 2 should be for correct booting from EMAC1 ?

Hi DD,

I'm not 100% sure but I think the ROM code will poll the MDIO until it finds a PHY that responds. EMAC1 should be used for booting. See also section 26.1.8.4.1 of the AM335X TRM Rev. J. Keep in mind Errata Advisory 1.0.10 (AM335X Errata Rev. F) when designing for RGMII.

Hi,

The poll is conducted consistently addresses Ethernet PHY: 0,1,2,3 and so on ?

That is, if the PHY address of Ethernet PHY port 2 is less than the PHY address of Ethernet PHY port 1, it can not work correctly ?
