How to quick get YUV420 video data in dsp?

Y'UV signals are typically created from RGB (red, green and blue) source. Weighted values of R, G, and B are summed to produce Y', a measure of overall brightness or luminance. U and V.

Y = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B

U'= (B-Y)*0.565

V'= (R-Y)*0.713

     I worked with 8168 DVRRDK before. And now I must quickly finish a project about OMAP-L138. As it is not same with DVRRDK.

     I want to process frame YUV420 Data in dsp, can you tell me a shortcut to do that?

In OMAPL138, there is an VPIF interface which is connected to TVP5147 ADC to accept composite video frame data with YUV420 and there is an VPIF loopback example sample application availabe from OMAPL138 starterware package, by which, you shall utilise this sample example to understand processing frame YUV420 data in dsp.

After installation of startware software, you shall see the vpif loopback example in the below path:
