Thank you for the reply. But i have already gone through the user guide before posting the query here. But unfortunately there is no option "TI's ADC driver" in "Analog to digital converters --->" menuconfig. The problem still persists.

The "TI's ADC driver" option should be there. Please check it's dependencies (in bold) as this may cause it to not be displayed:

Sorry for my very late reply.. I had checked the drivers/staging/iio/adc/Kconfig file in sdk, but there is no ti_adc available in it.. Iam using  ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.05.00.00 sdk. The problem has not been solved yet.. please do help me.

Roshith, the SDK version you are using is obsolete. The TI ADC driver has been added in a later version of the SDK: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x-PSP_04.06.00.09_Release_Notes

Please download the latest version (currently 06.00.00.00) of the TI AM335x SDK.

Hi Miroslav,

I saw ti_adc in the latest version. But i wish to continue with my present sdk. Is there any way that i can just intedrate this driver into my sdk?... i compiled the module and tried to insert it into mine using insmod. but i got the error: insmod: error inserting 'ti_adc.ko': -1 Invalid module format. 

What to do?

What I can think of is tracking all the patches that integrate the TI ADC driver between PSP versions 04.06.00.08 and 04.06.00.09 and applying them to your tree.

Iam porting to the latest sdk... I now have my ti_adc drivers enabled. I will keep you updated of my progess or in case of any help i will contact you..

I would like to know that in my old sdk is there any way to get the adc value to which the lcd display is connected?....  if i could get that, i neednt port to the latest sdk.

Roshith, SDK 05.05.00.00 is very old and no longer supported.

I'm not familiar with the 05.05.00.00 SDK, but my guess is that you won't be able to access the ADC values from user space, because they won't be available in the IIO subsystem:
