No UI folder in VayavyaLabs GUI release package

Following “IPNC_Plugin_Browser_Design_Guide_0 11.pdf”, we created CAB file and used ./MakeRelease.sh in ~/work/src/scripts folder to create released package as described in 5.2.2. But we don’t get UI folder in released package as described in part 8. We put files in released package in /var/www, but it doesn’t work.

  • UI folder is getting created using makeRelease script. According to IPNC guide part 5.2.2 and 8,  two possible cases could happen :

     1.  Mentioned step in part 5.2.2 to generate UI folder as follows :

          #./makeRelease  <targetname>
         So "UI" folder will get generate if <targetname> is mentioned as UI.
         The contents under this <targetname> folder should be copied to /var/www to make it work.

    2.  As mentioned in part 8
         UI folder is sync with "webdata/gui/vLabs" path in the released package.

    We have modified the document and the script from our side. Please find the attachment.

    Please let us know for any further clarifications.

  • Adding attachment as previous zip file may have errors while download

    IPNC_Plugin_Browser_Design_Guide_0.12.zip
  • We used attached scrip file and get UI folder. We copy all content of UI to /var/www. When login, we are promoted to install plug-in and provide the location of axvlc.dll. When we provide the location of the file, we still can't pass the step. Our location is C:\Users\usr_name\AppData\Local\Temp\IDC9.tmp\Program Files (x86)\IPNC_RDK_GUI_VideoPlayer_SDK\IPNC_RDK_GUI_VideoPlayer_SDK\TestReleaseWin32Release\VlcInstallation\win32bit\VLC. If we copy VLC folder to  C:\Users\usr_name\AppData\Local\Temp\IDC9.tmp, we can pass then step. Then we get blank page. Serial port reports:

    "GET /img/favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" ("/var/www/img/favicon.ico"): document open: No such file or directory

    If we copy all content of UI to ipnc_app/webdata/gui and compile, we get the same result.

  • For IPNC_RDK_V3.8.0, we use GUI_ENGINE_MODE := VLABS_VLC_OPENSRC to compile. In IE, we got black page and got the same error in serial port.

    request from 192.168.1.133 "GET /img/favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" ("/var/www/img/favicon.ico"): document open: No such file or directory

  • We need some more information on the reported bug since we are not facing this type of issue.

    We need the following details :

    "
          1)  OS details used for the app installation.
          2)  Browser details along with screen shots (blank screen and axvlc.dll prompt) .
          3)  Please provide us the CAB file used.
          4)  Does the user has followed the link mentioned in the doc part "5.1.2.5.2  -> Sign CAB file" to install in IE browser ?

    1. OS is Windows 8.
    2. Browser is IE and all ActiveX relative components are enabled.

    We are promoted by following message:

    Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer.

    Program name: [1]IPNCWebdells[1].CAB

    Verified publisher: Texas Instruments

    File origin: Downloaded from Internet

    We click Yes then we get following screen

    3. We are using IPNC_RDK v3.8  webdata/gui/vLabs code for GUI. The cab is attached5706.VIPNCWebdlls.zip

    4. There is no link in the doc part "5.1.2.5.2 -> Sign CAB file".

  • This release package supports only on Windows 7 and XP. Windows 8 OS is not yet tested.

    Please let us know if it's needed.

  • The GUI works on Windows 7. One issue, for the 2nd stream, only part of image is shown.

  • Dear Xiaojun,

                            Could you send us the following details.

    1. Screenshot of the problem.

    2. Resolution of your monitor.

    3. OS Version (32/64 bit, service pack details etc)

    4. On which browsers do you see the problem. Please mention the version of the browsers as well.

  • Thank for your reply.

    After I restart computer, the problem disappears.

    Now I'm trying to add my function on GUI. I added one event (this.attachEvent) in liveview.js. The event handler function is only called when liveview is loaded. When liveview is shown, there is no more response for the event. How can I add an event for liveview to show some information when mouse is clicked on the window?

  • Now I can add some mouse events, such as mousemove to  video0 in live view page. However, I there is no response of mousedown and mouseup event. Is it possible to add these events on video0?

  • Need some clarification :

    1) What is the purpose of mouse events on live view page ?

    2) Do you want to do some Mouse events on video window or outside of the video window ?

    3) Video window events are completely handled by plugin. Java script is not responsible to handle any events on video window.  Currently plugin supports mouse events only on Advanced video and advanced features configure screens.

  • We want to add mouse event on video window, such as when move mouse, send command to camera to zoom in or out image. Is it possible to modify code to do it?

  • As i had mentioned earlier Java script code changes will not affect anything on video window since zoom +/- support has to be there in plugin side.

    Yes it's possible to add this support but plugin code changes need to be done.

    Please let us know if you need the support.

  • As i had mentioned earlier on Video window event handling is completely   done by plugin, Java script code changes will not give the result for zoom +/-.   We can solve the issue in the following 2 ways :

    1) Either we can add a button for zoom +/- on Live view screen, which would be less time taking

    2) Or plugin code changes and regression testing which needs few time.

    Please let us know which step you are preferring .

  • Thank for your support.

    I added buttons to control video.

    One urgent issue: we run GUI on a laptop. When we switch from live view page to video page, we always get error " virtual function call" message box and then crash. The laptop is Windows 7, IE 9.0.

    On a desktop, GUI works better. But sometime, we see error "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and crash.

    Are there any quick solution for the issue?

  • Hi,

    1) Please share the screen shot for the crash happening in Windows 7 laptop. ("virtual function call")

    2) Not sure the reason for Desktop crash. So Please download the test release from the below link and follow the steps :

    Link to download the release :  https://www.hightail.com/download/elNMTmZYTWNrUm5Sc01UQw

    Installation procedure :
      -------------------------
      * Uninstall the older release
      * Unzip  TestReleaseWin32Release.zip
      * Browse to TestReleaseWin32Release/VlcInstallation
      * Double click on Win32Installer.msi (for 32bit) / Win64Installer.msi (for 64bit machine) to
         install the release package.
    And let us know if you still face Desktop crash.
  • After installing the package, I still see IE crash on desktop. When change some parameters, video becomes black, then message box shows IE is stopped.

    On laptop, the message box is like:
