AM335X Mac address question

Searching the forum i've found that the AM335x has its mac address programed in certain registers at manufacturing time.

My Question, is: Is that information printed in the encapsulate/packaging? I'm manufacturing a device with ethernet connectivity and i'm wondering how could i put a label with the macc address in an automatic way (i know i could plug it into a router and see what mac is making the dhcp request for instance)

No, the MAC addresses are not visible anywhere on the package.

So we can only read it from the processor somehow, or programing our own Mac into the device, is that correct?

If I could recal, the registers containing the Mac address are not writable, so we would have to modify the os ethernet driver so it gets the new Mac address from a non-volatile storage, or there is any other way around?

The programmed MAC addresses are unique, but if you want to replace them with your own they will need to be stored externally. The AM335X GP EVM has an I2C EEPROM that's used for this purpose: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_General_Purpose_EVM_HW_User_Guide#I2C_ID_Memory
