demo don't work with Beaglebone Black

Hello

the demo app don't work with the Beaglebone Black.

I use Starterware 2.0.1.1 with the patch for Beaglebone Black

The console give the following output

StarterWare AM335x Boot Loader

Copying application image from MMC/SD card do RAM

Jumping to StarterWare Application

Board Name: A335BNL

Board Version: 0A5C

SoC Version: 1

CM3 Firmware Version 358

I guess it stucks at the init of the timer

Has anyone a working app for the Beaglebone Black with timer1 init?

Hi Tobias,

The timer of the demo app works fine on A4 version of BBB. It faces the same issue when run on A6 version. I think it has an issue with the versions higher than A4. We are looking into it and will get back to you regarding the same.

Hello

I have found the problem.

The Timer holds only if I use the external 32kHz clock. If I use the internal 32KHz RC the app runs.

I guess the new revision of the Beaglebone have a problem with the external 32KHz clock.

Hello Tobias,

Please follow the steps:

- In demoMain.c, find a function call configVddOpVoltage() at line 597. Most probabely the program is stucking here.

- Locate the defination of this function in the file pmic.c at line 159 in the demo example directory.

- Here, find the function call at line 169,

TPS65217RegWrite(PROT_LEVEL_2, DEFLS1, LDO_VOLTAGE_OUT_3_3, LDO_MASK);

- Change it to

TPS65217RegWrite(PROT_LEVEL_2, DEFLS1, LDO_VOLTAGE_OUT_1_8, LDO_MASK);

This configures the LDO3 of the PMIC to generate 1.8 V, which is required by BBB. By default it generates 3.3 V as per the BBW requirement.

Please let me know if it solves the problem?
