This is the error which is coming while debugging the dsp sample code in ccs 5.5.i am using xsd 100v2 emulator for debugging and omapl138 lcdk kit.

(Error connecting to the target:

(Error -1180 @ 0x0)
Device is held in reset. Take the device out of reset, and retry the operation.
(Emulation package 5.1.232.0))

How can i remove this error

Hi Marut,

I have seen your old posts also regarding emulator problems with CCS.

Are you not getting even single communication succeed between emulator with CCS?

Hi Stalin,

I have previously run the sample codes but after re flashing the nand flash i am getting these problems,

previously the problem was only on running the arm based sample codes, dsp based sample codes was running properly,, while debugging the arm based sample codes it was getting the error (ARM9_0: Output: Target Connected.

ARM9_0: Output: ---------------------------------------------
ARM9_0: Output: Memory Map Setup Complete.
ARM9_0: Output: ---------------------------------------------

ARM9_0: GEL: Error while executing OnTargetConnect(): Target failed to write 0x01C11138 at (*((unsigned int *) (0x01C11000+0x138))|=0x1) [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:16] at device_PLL0(0, 24, 1, 0, 1, 11, 5) [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:403] at Set_Core_300MHz() [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:468] at Core_300MHz_mDDR_150MHz() [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:245] at OnTargetConnect())

But the dsp based codes was running properly, but now i have reflashed the nand flash after that i am getting this problem only on running dsp based sample codes and i am not able to troubleshoot the problem after reading your links also, i am not getting the relevant information in that links, and in arm based sample codes the same problem is coming as givem above.

please help

ARM9_0: GEL: Error while executing OnTargetConnect(): Target failed to write 0x01C11138 at (*((unsigned int *) (0x01C11000+0x138))|=0x1) [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:16] at device_PLL0(0, 24, 1, 0, 1, 11, 5) [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:403] at Set_Core_300MHz() [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:468] at Core_300MHz_mDDR_150MHz() [OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel:245] at OnTargetConnect())

By looking into this,

1) For OMAPL138_LCDK, We will configure & use the core frequency is 456MHz,

So select appropriate gel file for OMAPL138_LCDK, It will kick the ARM/DSP core at 456MHz freq.

2) Create new target config file and select board as "OMAPL138_LCDK" and your emulator then check "initialization script" option for gel file(If not , select OMAPL138_LCDK gel file located at < CCS installation path > /ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/emulation/boards/lcdkomapl138/gel/OMAP-L138_LCDK.gel) in advance option.

What is your CCS version?

Please let us know the results.

Hi,

In addition to that you can run OMAPL138_LCDK at 300MHz also,

Try to change the TCLK to 1MHz in target config advanced settings.

The same issue has been already raised and got closed.

I am using ccs 5.5

I have done the same thing as given, set the TCLK to adaptive with user specific limit and then 1Mhz. after setting this the arm sample code run for the first time then after that it again started to give the error, but now the error is different (

i have xds 100v2 emulator for which i have set the TCLK frequency as given below, after setting the TCLK the arm sample code run for the first time after that it started to give the different error, the error is

Problem has been solved for the arm based codes, every time i run the codes afer that i have to reset the device then only after the other code is running

But for the dsp based codes the same problem is occuring

please help for dsp based codes also

Hi,

I assume that the DSP is in reset state (it should wakeup through ARM) and you are trying to run the DSP app in it.

Step 1) Open a new example hello world project and select family as "C6000" and not ARM.

Step 2) Select the DSP hello world project and select "Debug as" option for debugging DSP code through emulator.

After you ran the ARM, Click right option of DSP core and select "Target connect option"

Please select appropriate gel file for each core(ARM/DSP) through init script option.
