multi Audio codecs using omap4430 McBSP ports

Hi,I have two audio coedcs chips.

ChipA connect to MCBSP1 of the omap4430.

ChipB connect to MCBSP2 and MCBSP3 of the omap4430.

My problem is ChipA only work at master mode.And MCBSPs share one MCLK pin(abe_clks pin).

If I connect one's MCLK pin to abe_clks, the other MCLK pin should be not connected.

How do I connect the pins to MCBSP ports and make the audio codecs work together.

For example, CHIPA for recording and CHIPB for playing back.

I worry about that there is not synchronized and droping audio data .

Hello Zcliang,

The figure below shows the connection between the McBSPi module, where i = 1, 2, or 3 (4-pin configuration) and an external device in transmit and receive master mode.

To enable abe_clks for MCBSPs use the register: CM_CLKSEL_ABE[8] PAD_CLKS_GATE Gating control for PAD_CLKS clock tree in ABE -0x1: The clock is enabled

There is not problem to use one clock signal to MCBSP1/2/3. However, the clock must be sourced by master devices.

Could you provide information about your audio codecs?
