Future of TI-RTOS?

A little schedule will be fantastic. 

I'm trying to evaluate the TM4C129X dev board and struggling with the various bits and bobs.

I've downloaded the NDK (ndk_2_23_00_00) and NSP (NSP_1_10_02_09) but can't find any examples that CC6 beta can import or find via the explorer. I'm finding myself running around in circles on the website and wiki trying to find out what is where and you're forever coming across links that point to old out of date information.

Any quick guide for a thicky to take me through the steps of downloading the NDK/NSP with an example that will compile and run on the dev board?

I've got BIOS_6_37_01_24 and tirtos_1_21_00_09.

Hi Peter,

TI-RTOS has SYS/BIOS, NDK, TivaWare, UIA and the NDK driver (aka NSP). There are Ethernet examples in TI Resource Explorer (un TI-RTOS). We recommend that you stick with CCS 5.5 if you are using TI-RTOS 1.21. We're working on a new release of TI-RTOS for CCS 6.

Thanks for that, so I don't need any of the extra packages as they come with RTOS and the RTSC components are managed via RTOS pages and not NDK ones.

We do have plans for some additional protocols. We are in process of licensing/porting SSL/TLS to TI-RTOS. I don't have a hard schedule for this yet but I am guessing around late Q2 we will have this. We'll be following this with SSH and HTTPS from the same licensing arrangement.

We have SMTP on the to do list but not sure when it would be done. Likely by some time in Q3.Might be earlier depending on resourcing.

No plans for ICMP server. What is the use case you have for this?

I think SMTP is more important than SSL/SSH. Most embedded solutions should send an E-Mail on event.  

"ICMP server" is able to send a ping. For example: keep alive timer .

Is authentication possible too?

Would you mind clarifying on this a bit further?  Do you just need to send pings from within the NDK app to another device?  Or, is there a specification/RFC on ICMP server?

I Try it.

It should be reversed:

ICMP Server: response a ping. NDK response a ping from outside. Normal function.

ICMP Client: send a ping to another devices. We use it as Keep Alive Timer.

We send a ping(s) and without answer, device will be restarted.

 I just need to send pings from NDK app to another device.

The NDK has this ability.  You can see an example of it as part of the NDK's Telnet console app.

While none of the TI-RTOS examples make use of the console, you can find the code for it in the NDK.  Please see the console code for the ping command:

    ti/ndk/tools/console/conping.c
