/RESET timing on OMAP-L138

Dear All,

I am trying to verify if my warm restart duration is correct - it works at ambient temperatures but once at elevated temperatures things go not to plan.

I have an external FPGA which controls the /RESET line for a "warm " reset; it asserts for 200 uS duration. This works except for at +80 degrees (I am using the 'A' part OMAP rated for 105 degrees).

I have been looking over the documentation and I cannot find (again) the note where I got the 200 uS from - is it too short ?

Also, I could do a cold start but am not sure if that is required - I do not use the RTC and the memory content should be replaced once I boot ?

All the best

Boris

  • Sorry - what actually happens is that the OMAP freezes until the temperature comes down, at which point it starts to respond to the reboot pulse.

It will reboot when I power cycle at elevated temperatures but crash shortly afterwards and generate a signal fault.

(We are suspecting the DDR2 or the crystal at this point, which are rated for lower temperatures) but it is the failure to reset that I am concerned with h ere.

  • Hi Boris,

Thanks for your patience and apologize for the delayed response on this.

Are you able to find out the problem ?

If yes, please share it here and it could help others too.

If not, we try to help you on this, please update the status as well ie where you are now and what are all the trials/debugging that you tried etc., so that it will be good to start to support.

Once again thanks for your understanding.
