TI 3.4 kernel doesn't boot

Dear all,

I updated my ubuntu kernel image of my pandaboard ES RB3 with the 3.4.0-1491-omap4 kernel from the TI PPA: https://launchpad.net/~tiomap-dev/+archive/release from my host PC running chroot. Then I booted the old kernel before running flashkernel. Then, I rebooted and it seems that the new kernel doesn't want to boot : it hang at " booting the kernel". I checked my boot arg (ttyS02) and all come the content of my SD card come from the ubuntu precise prebuilt binary except u-boot because of the SDRAM size bug.

I tried to compile it from sources by TI : http://dev.omapzoom.org/?p=integration/kernel-ubuntu.git;a=summary but same result.

I need this kernel to load Cortex-M3 and DSP firmware so I was wondering if any body had some advice for booting it.

Ok, now it is booting after adding those lines in order to support the ELPIDA RAM:

but there is still no remote proc support. (waiting for udev -2 or something like that).

Hi Kevin,

Can you boot with loglevel 7 and provide us with more information from the log.

With the original kernel TI ubuntu-omap? or patched?

With the original (from ppa or custom kernel ubuntu-omap without patch), it doesn't print anything even in loglevel 7. But with the patch that I mentioned in my previous post, it works fine. Even rpmsg now.

Yes you must use this patch because you have version b3 of the board( different memory).

But i was asking for the log to see if something else is misbehaving
