Is EDMA supported data copy from L2 to mapped address?

I use C6678DSP.  I set MSMCSRAM to non-cacheable by using MPAX register to map 0x0C000000 to a virtual

address 0x50000000.

After MSMCSRAM address map , i find i cannot  data copy from L2 to  the mapped address(0x50000000) by EDMA.

 what shoule i do?

Is  EDMA supported data copy from L2 to  mapped address?

  • Xi Su,

The purpose of EDMA is to service data transfers that you program between two memory-mapped slave endpoints on the device.
Yes, EDMA channels can be configured and triggered to do the data transfer from source to destination memory.

Memory-mapped slaves: All on-chip memories, off-chip memories, and slave peripherals. These typically rely on the EDMA (or other master peripheral) to perform transfers to and from them.

Master peripherals: All peripherals that are capable of initiating read and write transfers to the system that may not solely rely on the EDMA for their data transfers.

However, please check if any of the EDMA channels are used by the peripherals in your system.
Here, some conflict with the address which is used by you. See the memory map.

Please refer the EDMA and MSMC user guide for detailed information.

  • Hi Su,

There are two sets of MPAX registers, one in DSP and one in MSMC.  To enable EDMA accessing the mapped memory, you need to configure the MPAX registers in MSMC.
