The platform I am using is DVRRDK 4.0 on DM8168.
Does the parameter targetBitRate of EncLink_ChDynamicParams for JPEG encode take any effect?
I tried increasing this value but the output size of the JPEG doesn't change.
If not, how could I improve the quality of the JPEG stream? Thanks
is that I have to migrate the JPEG encoder to REL.500.V.MJPEG.E.IVAHD.01.00.14.00 as stated in http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/717/p/323662/1131615.aspx in order to get a higher quality JPEG?
If yes, after migration, which parameter should I set? targetBitrate or quality factor?
Thanks
targetBitrate parameter changes should take effect after taking up the patch in the post.
Do I need to migrate to REL.500.V.MJPEG.E.IVAHD.01.00.14.00 encoder release as stated by Bachi?
or simply using the patch is enough already?
Thanks
You need to migrate to REL.500.V.MJPEG.E.IVAHD.01.00.14.00. Applying patch is not sufficient. On the older codec version you can try adjusting qp as indicated in the below link
