Official linux kernel for DM365: when?

Hi,

I know that support for DM365 in the official linux kernel is under work. I think it is a great thing, but I've not found much information on betas, the status of the work or any schedule. Can anyone please summary up the available information on this subject? Where/how/when will new sources be distributed?

Thanks!

  • I think the best place to look on this topic at the moment is this Davinci GIT Linux Kernel Wiki article, it acts kind of like a status/schedule for getting support into the community.

As to getting the latest version you can download the sources through GIT and get a file system up using Arago. However beware that this will be new, perhaps too new, such that you may run into various compatibility issues if you want to use the full DVSDK software stack (i.e. leverage DM365 codecs and such), in general I would recommend working with the latest DVSDK release package, which contains everything you should need and is known to work in harmony. Note that there should be a new DVSDK 3.10 which also supports DM365 within the coming months that is based on the community kernel (as opposed to Monta Vista as is the case with the current 2.10 release).
