C66x DSPs realistic usage

Hi All,

  Recently I was using TMDXEVM6678L board, I was wondering if the KeyStone based DSPs such as c6678 have been used in realistic case other than on EVM board like the one I have or the similar DSPC-8681/2. If there are realistic usage cases for C66x DSP, what are they, where can I find the information about them?

    We have a number of customers developing products with the KeyStone family of processors, mainly in the communications marketplace but also in medical and industrial automation. I'm sorry, but I can't give you any details the products developed by other TI customers.

    Actually I didn't want the details of these products, I only wanted to know what are they and what the role KeyStone processors play in them.

  • Yes it is. But these equipment are the general use case of TI's various DSPs, do they have real product for using the C66x DSPs such as  C6678? I am just curious figure out.

  • Yes, there must be thousands of such products that use the C66x DSPs.  As you know, Advantech makes the EVM and the 8681/8682, which are great for development and for accelerating, respectively.  But TI sells most of these DSP chips to other companies who then integrate them into their own custom boards.  As was mentioned, they can't provide any details, but you can take a guess based on the link I provided.
