RBL of C6670

Hi,

I have a question about C6670 bootloader(RBL).
We are using SPI NOR boot and want to know the following:

1.
Does RBL verify the code/data after loading from NOR Flash to be sure that it was loaded successfully?

2.
Our C6670 revision is PG2.0 and looking for ROM source code for this revision.
But it seem there is no source code are provided yet.
Is there a plan to be released?

Hi g.f.,

1. The RBL does not check the code/data that is loaded against the code/data in the NOR Flash to verify that it matches correctly.

2. The jump from PG 1.0 to PG 2.0 was due to PLL initialization issues. The source that is provided here: http://software-dl.ti.com/sdoemb/sdoemb_public_sw/rbl/1_0_C6670/index_FDS.html should be unchanged for SPI NOR.

There are currently no plans to release PG 2.0 boot ROM source.

May I ask you one more question?
I'm looking at tiboot.h which provided from RBL source code.
In boot_params_spi_s structure, there are "checksum" parameter.
Is it possible to check whether the code/data has been loaded correctly using this "checksum"?

Hi g.f.,

The checksum in the boot parameters table is designed to be checked against the boot parameter table only. It is not for checking the data that is loaded from the memory device.

This checksum is the 16 bits ones complement of the ones complement of the entire table. A value of 0 will disable checksum verification of the table by the boot ROM.
