Trying to build the OMAP 4460 kernel. Looking for the Variscite BSP.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4460

Hi,

I am trying to build the kernel for the OMAP 4460 processor that is built into a Variscite SOM/Board.  I am using these directions:

http://variwiki.com/index.php?title=VAR-SOM-OM44_Ubuntu_RN

But have run-a-ground as I can not find this critical patch file:

var-som-om44-ubuntu-12.04.TI_GLP16X-VARX-armhf-omap4.patch

I assume this is essentially the BSP for the Variscite hardware.  Does anyone have a copy of this file?

-thanks

  • Hello,

I think you are correct; the patch you refer to is a modification to the TI kernel, which should be applied in order to have fully functional variscite som. However I couldn't find the var-som-om44-ubuntu-12.04.TI_GLP16X-VARX-armhf-omap4.patch in their website (http://variwiki.com/index.php?title=Main_Page).

There are some patches, available through google search, like:

    https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg103683.html

    http://lwn.net/Articles/475995/

    And a few others.

But I cannot confirm that those are correct and up to date. I would recommend contacting variscite customer support directly.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
