Questions about interrupts

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCI6638K2K

Hi

I am developing for the TCI6638K2K device and have some questions about interrupts.

Firstly, a basic question:  What is the difference between an interrupt and an event?

Secondly, the TCI6638K2K data sheet (SPRS836D) lists the system interrupts in section 6.3.  Is there a formula or scheme for deciding how one should map the system interrupt to a host interrupt on a particular core?

Best regards

David

  • Hi David,

Event is a signal that one of the HW devices or external input generate, You can connect the system events to one of the ARM or DSP's, please check - http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Configuring_Interrupts_on_Keystone_Devices for understanding how to connect event to an Interrupt,

    Thanks,

    HR

  • TCI6638K2K  devices are supported directly through Local Field Applications Engineers (FAEs.)  These devices are not supported on the E2E forum.  Please contact your local FAE for support of these devices.  If you are not sure who your local FAE is, then please contact your local technical sales representative and they will be able to put you in contact with your local FAE.

    Thanks.

  • Hi

Our FAE says that the TCI6638K2K is in the public domain and there should be no issues discussing it on E2E. Are you sure it's TI's policy to exclude TCI6638K2K customers from help on this forum?

    Best regards

    David

  • Hello David

Raja's recommendation is correct, K2K device family is not supported on these E2E forums. I recommend/encourage you to file Siebel SR for your queries for efficient and timely support, I have informed the engineering team supporting these devices to expect these questions coming their way.

    Best Regards
