CCS 6 does not recognize DSP/BIOS 5.20

Hi David,

I am sorry to say that DSP/BIOS 5.20 is not supported on CCS 6.0.  Would it be possible to migrate your project to the latest DSP/BIOS (5.42.01.09)?  I installed and verified that CCS 6.0 does recognize it.  

If migration is out of the question; I would suggest you keep the CCS 5.x install you have been using.  CCS 5 and CCS 6 can coexist on the same computer.

Upgrading is not an option as we use the BIOS ROM and this is the version that is burned into our ROM.  We need to keep this since it frees up valuable internal ram which we use for optimization.

Is there any chance it will be supported in the future?  When we originally moved from CCS3.3 to 5 we were told that 5 required BIOS 5.41 or greater, but it works OK with 5.20.

If I have a few questions related to updating the BIOS and using the new BIOS, is this forum the right place? Should I start a new thread?

Specifically,  I would like to know what is the best way to run the bios. Should it be located in internal ram for optimization? Is there a way to split it so only the critical functions can be in internal memory and the rest in external
memory?

Is there also someone I who can tell me future plans TI has for the c672x family?
