DM8168 Composite video out through IOUTD

Hi All,

I'm using DM8168 custom board, have 2 ADV7182 decoders connected to VIN0 and VIN1 of the processor.

I'm able to configure these two chips and able to get output (test patters) in HDMI display using saLoopBack application.

But my target is to get output in composite output of the processor i.e IOUTD pin from processor.

I'm using "/dev/video0" and "/dev/video5" as capture devices and "/dev/video1" as display device.

Few sysfs attributes are set as below in saLoopBack application to get output in HDMI display.

        system ("echo 1:dvo2 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics0/nodes");

        system("echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/enabled");
        system ("echo 720p-60 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/mode");
        system("echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/enabled");

        system("echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/enabled");
        system ("echo 1080p-60 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/mode");
        system("echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics0/enabled");
        system("echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display0/enabled");
        system("echo 1:hdmi > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/graphics0/nodes");

Is there any sysfs configuration exists for composite out also,whatever devices used to capture and display are proper to get output in Composite out also?

Please help me to solve this issue.

    Hi Nithin kumar2,

            /dev/video3 is the composite output, that is:

    cat sys/devices/platform/vpss/display2/name
    sd
    / # cat sys/devices/platform/vpss/display2/output
    composite
    / # cat sys/devices/platform/vpss/display2/mode
    ntsc

    I suppose that you are capturing 1080p, so you need to downscale to a correct resolution, you can do it with the following pipeline:


    CAPS_HD_NV12="video/x-raw-yuv,format=(fourcc)NV12,width=1920,height=1080,framerate=(fraction)60/1"
    CAPS_SD="video/x-raw-yuv,width=720,height=480"

    gst-launch v4l2src device=/dev/video5 always-copy=false queue-size=8 ! capsfilter caps=$CAPS_HD_NV12 ! omxbufferalloc numBuffers=10 ! gstperf ! omx_scaler ! capsfilter caps=$CAPS_SD ! v4l2sink device=/dev/video3

    Hi David,


    Thanks for the reply, I'm able to get out put in IOUTD i.e composite out, Application and all I changed before itself i.e width, height etc., Only had to change Capture device /dev/video3 and display node i.e display2 in saLoopBack application to get output in Composite out port.
