AM335x: Confirm the driver which is included in SDK

Dear All,

Please let me confirm the following question.

[Question.1]

What is the "crypto" in /dev folder?(i.e. /dev/crypto) Is this a driver in order to use the Crypto Hardware Accelerators in AM335x? If yes, is this driver used for OpenSSL?

[Question.2]

If not used this driver for openssl, how should we change the software in order to use the Crypto Hardware Accelerators?

Hi,

You can read about the Cryptodev linux device here: http://cryptodev-linux.org/

The OpenSSL library may use this device to access the kernel cryprographic framework through it.

Unfortunately I haven't used this, so I'm not able to help you further. You can try to search the web for some useful results, as this is already a general linux question because of the user space and /dev/crypto abstraction.
